A recurring deposit calculator projects how a fixed monthly deposit grows over the tenure of the RD. Each installment earns interest only for the months remaining, so the first deposit compounds the longest and the last one barely earns anything.
The output separates the total you deposited from the interest earned, which makes it easy to compare an RD against a lump-sum FD or a monthly SIP at the same tenure.
Each monthly installment earns interest for the months remaining in the tenure, compounded quarterly. The maturity amount is the sum of all installments plus the interest each one earns, so earlier deposits contribute more interest than later ones.
